Colombia. Tour of the Caribbean coast

After visiting the cities and discovering the best beaches and natural landscapes in the area, it will be possible to extend the tour to Capurganá, a town on the border with Panama or take a flight to the islands of San Andrés and Providencia, a marvelous archipelago with waters crystal clear located 700 km from the Colombian Caribbean coast.

Day 1: Arrival in Riohacha and transfer to Cabo de la Vela 

Upon your arrival, you will receive a welcome at the airport and leave for the Cabo de la Vela. On the way, there will be a stop in Uribia and in the salt mines of Manaure for a visit, and you will arrive in Cabo de la Vela for lunch. In the afternoon a visit to the Pilón de Azúcar beach is planned and you can enjoy a splendid sunset at the lighthouse. For the day there is a driver/guide in Spanish. 

Day 2: Transfer to Punta Gallinas 

After breakfast, you will leave for Punta Gallinas, the northernmost point in all of South America. Along the way, you will pass near the Wind Farm, Porto Bolivar and the Bay of Portete. You will then stop for lunch in the town of Pusher. In the afternoon a visit to the beaches of Baia Honda, la Boquita, is scheduled and you can also have a boat ride to Hondita Bay before returning to Punta Gallinas for the night. A Spanish-speaking driver/guide is scheduled for the day. 

Day 3: Visit the surroundings of Punta Gallinas 

After breakfast, a visit to Punta Aguja beach is planned for a bit of relaxation. 

After lunch in Punta Gallinas, you will participate in a visit to the lighthouse and enjoy the sunset from the dunes of Taroa beach. Also for this day, you will have a driver/guide in Spanish. 

Day 4: Departure for Riohacha 

After breakfast, departure for Uribia is planned by taking a boat trip in the Hondita Bay and visiting the island located within the bay. 

After lunch in Uribia, we will leave for Riohacha where once you arrive you will be settled in the hotel. For the day there is a driver/guide in Spanish.

Day 5: At a time of Santa Marta 

After breakfast at the hotel, you will leave for the transfer by land to Santa Marta ( about 4 hours ), the first city founded by the Spanish in South America. In the afternoon you will enjoy a City Tour to discover its historical beauties. 

Day 6: Excursion to the Tayrona Park 

You will be served breakfast at the hotel and then you will leave for the Tayrona Park where you will enjoy a group excursion walking in the middle of the lush forest of the park and crossing beautiful beaches until you reach Cabo San Juan del Guia. You will have free time to enjoy the sea, the beach and the spectacular natural environment. You will return to the park entrance late in the afternoon to return to the hotel in Santa Marta. 

Day 7: The discovery of the Tayrona Park continues 

After breakfast at the hotel, you will leave for the Tayrona Park for a group excursion starting from Neguanje, a town accessible by land. You will then continue by boat to reach Playa Cristal where you will have free time to enjoy the sea and the wonderful nature of this corner of paradise. You will return to Santa Marta in the late afternoon. 

Day 8: Traveling to Cartagena de Indias 

After breakfast at the hotel, there is a transfer by land to Cartagena de Indias (approximately 4 hours). Upon arrival at the hotel, you can settle down and have some free time to start discovering the charm of this city, the pearl of the Colombian Caribbean. 

Day 9: Discover Cartagena de Indias 

After breakfast at the hotel, spend the morning discovering the beauties of Cartagena. You will start with a scenic route on the modern Bocagrande seafront and visit of the San Felipe de Barajas Castle and the Convent of the Popa (admissions included). You will then continue towards the bovedas, ancient warehouses today craft shops. The afternoon will be free. We recommend a guided walking tour of the colonial city centre where you can breathe the real magic realism. 

Day 10: Relax at the Rosario Islands 

After breakfast at the hotel, spend the day relaxing and enjoying the sea life with a group excursion to one of the islands of the Rosario Archipelago with typical lunch included and assistance in Spanish. Return to the hotel is expected in the late afternoon. 

Day 11: Visit La Boquilla

After breakfast at the hotel, you will leave for the Afrocartagenero village of La Boquilla to take a tour designed to get in touch with the local people of a typical fishing village immersing themselves in their musical traditions and cultures. You will enjoy a lunch by the sea and then continue on a canoe itinerary through the mangroves to appreciate the natural beauty of the area. You will return to Cartagena in the late afternoon.
